the stevensons Posted July 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2014 Hope I'm in the right place-we have just booked a med cruise on the Epic which sails on the Sunday. We are planning to book our own flights separately and fly in day of the cruise. Flight should get us to barcelona airport about 12.30. What happens if there is a delay and we missed boarding? Would insurance cover that? Can anyone recommend any insurance in particular? I would book flights through ncl but they want £300pp and to book ourselves is only £230 for both of us. Can't fly in earlier due to work issues. Thanks
Rare KeithJenner Posted July 16, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2014 Yes, you're in the right place. I can't answer about the insurance, but can you really not fly out the day before? I'd really suggest it if you can. Whether your flights are covered by insurance or not won't help you have a great holiday if you are standing watching the ship as it sails into the distance. On that itinerary you only have the one sea day and on the Epic it is really necessary with everything to do onboard. You haven't too much leeway in case anything goes wrong, and I imagine it will be a fairly early start on the Sunday morning. Personally, I'd prefer to fly in late the day before rather than in the morning.
smeyer418 Posted July 16, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 16, 2014 remember the rules are different in the UK, If you buy the flights through the cruise line different rules from the US apply. Whether the insurance will cover depends on the insurance contract. Some insurance contracts require a delay of a certian number of hours before it kicks in...
