ClarkBHM Posted July 17, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2014 Hello, We have a Sunday departure in January on the NCL Dawn, but most of the hotels around the terminal are either booked or sky high. I guess mid January is a popular time? Anyway, we're travelling with two kids and arriving somewhat late on Saturday evening. We found a good rate at the Fairfield Inn & Suites near the airport, with a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel. For our Sunday departure, would we be better off taking the free shuttle back to the airport to catch a transfer out to the terminal, or can we rely on taxi service to take us from the hotel straight to the terminal? Does anyone have a suggestion on alternative options? Thanks for your help!
jgmpuma Posted July 17, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 17, 2014 Cabs from the airport to the cruise terminal charge a fixed rate. A cab from the hotel will charge the metered rate. There won't be much traffic on a Sunday morning, so the cab from the hotel will probably be cheaper, and you will save some time by not going back to the airport. Have someone at the hotel call a cab for you.
ClarkBHM Posted July 17, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted July 17, 2014 Thank you. About how long would it take to get to the NCL terminal?
jgmpuma Posted July 17, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 17, 2014 30 minutes or so. There won't be much traffic, and no major construction is going on.
nolatravelgirl Posted July 17, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 17, 2014 It is an okay nieghborhood but should be fine for the evening. you are a few blocks from The Esplanade mall that has a Target where you can pick up wine and soft drinks, sunscreen, etc.
