Vision GS - Noise???

Recommended Posts

Hello! We are just off a Brilliance cruise in GS under the Solarium/Park Café and it was by far the loudest room we have ever had. Chairs scraping literally from 5 am to 2 am -- which meant only a few hours sleep a night. It was a wonderful cabin, but the noise was terrible.

We got a great deal on a GS for next year on Vision of Seas - cabin 8506. It is below windjammer marketplace, and right next to the Owners Suites. Anyone have experience with the noise in this cabin or any nearby??? We don't relish another sleepless cruise, but like the GS cabin size and of course the concierge lounge! Thanks!

We had OS 8502 and GS 8016 and never heard a thing from anywhere. Did move back to aft JS's for our next cruises though as just prefer that location on the ship. The suites were wonderfully re-done on last October's re-vitalization of Vision.

In May, on Vision, we had OS 8504. Yes, there was noise from above, but only noticed it during the day.

Our balcony only had 2 lounge chairs (3 in our cabin) and they were unable to supply a third straight back chair. There was a GS on the right side of us and that balcony only had 2 straight back chairs--no lounges

Run, run, run from 8506! Just off Vision (a great ship and cruise btw... Review to follow). We were in GS 8506 and the noise from carts in windjammer was nonstop. Started around 3 am and continued all day long. Repairs and cleaning done around 1 am. Literally woke us up WITH a white noise machine AND earplugs. Worst noise ever on a cruise ship. Otherwise the cabin was very, very nice. Updated, great attendant, newer carpet and furniture.

But the noise makes this room a terrible choice. Not sure what to recommend, as ship designers seem to put suites below public areas. But about any room has to be better than this cabin as far as getting some sleep!
