Bren99 Posted July 22, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 22, 2014 We are joining Ventura in Venice in Sept, but flying independently. I presume there is a normal cruise check in desk of some description?
BrianI Posted July 22, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 22, 2014 (edited) Yes there will be. You can't board until you have your cruise card! There are terminals with check in desks just like Southampton Brian Edited July 22, 2014 by BrianI

Rare Cloudyrain Posted July 22, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 22, 2014 We recently got off at Venice :( and there were loads of signs and helpers everywhere directing people where to go. Have a lovely time! :D
richleeds Posted July 22, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 22, 2014 We joined Ventura in Venice after taking an independent flight out there. All went very smoothly, we hired a car and drove ourselves to the ship, parked right outside check in, handed our bags over, drove the car around the corner to the Avis drop off and walked back to the ship, no real queue as such just a moving line of independents checking in, took us 10 mins max. Very easy to do.
starryuk Posted July 25, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 25, 2014 If you are coming in to Marco Polo airport, (don't know the other one) There is a bus outside the terminal which will take you to Piazza Roma for a few Euros. That is a short walk from the port. When we embarked in Venice earlier this month, and went off exploring, I noticed quite a few people trundling their cases to the ship on foot. From Piazza Roma catch the people mover to the port. Only a euro or so. there is also a vaporetto service (water bus) from the airport to the port for those adventurous types with plenty of time. Never used it though. edit - the vaporetto service is run by Alilaguna there is an extensive water taxi and vaporetto mooring at the airport Edited July 25, 2014 by davecttr
