If you are going transatlantic then it is called a Crossing.

 

Yes, we took a bottle of gin and bottles of tonic on board. Your steward should get you ice in a bucket if you ask and, take wine as well. Apparently, if you want to take wine to the restaurant they will charge corkage. Otherwise there is not a problem and no charge.

 

Have a good crossing.

In fact we and our table companions seemed to have quite a number of bottles of fizz of various sorts given us to placate a few problems. We took them to the Britannia and asked our waiter if we could have them served. Never got corkage charged.
