loubetti Posted July 24, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 24, 2014 (edited) carnival - 37 - royal - 60.. a blow out.. Okay, Carnival was up almost 2%, and Royal beat them in percentage increase today. Otherwise the actual share prices mean nothing in relation to each other. Carnival has WAY more outstanding shares than RCI. Let's have a look at CCL: Range 37.01 - 37.52 52 week 31.44 - 41.89 Open 37.01 Vol / Avg. 4.72M/3.65M Mkt cap 28.90B P/E 26.50 Div/yield 0.25/2.69 EPS 1.40 Shares 592.65M Beta 1.36 Inst. own 80% Now RCI: Range 59.98 - 61.36 52 week 35.67 - 61.36 Open 60.00 Vol / Avg. 5.93M/1.31M Mkt cap 13.45B P/E 31.60 Div/yield 0.25/1.65 EPS 1.92 Shares 222.33M Beta 2.63 Inst. own 59% RCI's beta of 2.63 is far more volatile then CCL's of 1.36. Does anyone need the above data explained? Otherwise, your post doesn't mean much to me. Edited July 24, 2014 by loubetti

Family Travel Story Posted July 24, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 24, 2014 As fascinating as this discussion may become, I do not pick my cruise vacation based upon financial projections or value of public shares available to transact. I think in regard to a real financial score, the question should be would you pay more money to cruise RCI the CCL? I can say I would not. I may however, be willing to pay more for CCL though, and after 23 cruises, 3 on RCI and 10+ on CCL, I think I have some credibility to my opinion. IMHO, the food on CCL is far superior to that on RCI, the entertainment is about equal, and the massive amount of activities that can be done on one of RCI's mega liners just does not appeal to me. Frankly, I do not travel from the North East to the Caribbean to go ice skating. With all of this said, it is only one man's opinion and to each his own. No matter what you do, any day you spend on a cruise ship is better than a day in the office.

cbCRR Posted July 24, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 24, 2014 Depends on what price you purchased your stocks. My CCL is up 26%, and my RCL is up 164%. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
