passport question- do you need one?

I was told by someone today that you have to have a passport to go on the cruise we are taking for our honeymoon. It goes to Cozumel and one other spot in Mexico. I have friends that tell me no and others who tell me we need them. Neither of us have passports and the cruise is coming up in October! Do we need to get them and if so, what do we need to do?!? TIA!

If it is this October, NO, you do not need a passport, all you'll need is your birth certificate. Passports won't be required until after 12/31/05.

No you don't need it this year, although you probably still have time to get them. They are good for 10 years. You do need a photo ID, plus a certifed birth certificate.

You do not need a passport this year for that itinerary.

You may need your marriage license if you have changed your driver's license, plus it can't hurt to bring it just in case. We are bringing birth certificates, driver's licenses and the marriage license. Hope you have a fabulous cruise!!!! We were married ten years ago this October :)
