What to wear on Mediterranean Cruise

Shorts are perfectly acceptable everywhere onshore in Europe. However if you are sightseeing and planning of entering one of the many, many churches ensure that you have something to cover your shoulders or you might be denied entry.

Wear long, dressy shorts unless you really want to stand out as a tourist while in port . For religious sites, you should cover both your shoulders and knees. A couple nice pairs of khakis (or a calf length light skirt for a woman) can take you quite far. Remember that Europeans tend to dress up more than Americans; I usually leave the tshirts with slogans at home and have found I get better service in port if I dress up just a touch (though no expensive jewelry!).
