Morebeer Posted August 4, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2014 Hello All. Saw these 11 and 12 day Carnival itineraries out of Galveston Tx on the Carnival Trimuph early in 2015. Does anyone know if these are a permanment addition to Carnival's itineraries out of Galveston. Looks like one of them may be a repositioning cruise to get the Trimuph to San Juan PR but didn't know if these longer itineraries would still be offered on any of the other Carnival ships sailing out of Galveston going forward. Thanks in advance for any replies.

forwardcabin Posted August 4, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2014 After many requests for longer itineraries from Galveston, these cruises are finally reality. They include the two you mentioned in Feb, 2015. There is also a 12-day cruise to Costa Rica, Panama, and Columbia in Mar, 2015. Triumph is also scheduled for two more Galveston-San Juan-Galveston (21-days B2B total) runs in Oct-Nov, 2015 and Jan, 2016. While Triumph does the longer itineraries in Feb and Mar, Magic will take over the 4- and 5-day trips. However, the first one, Feb 8, and the last one, Mar 9, will be 6-day trips that include Costa Maya. Carnival Freedom comes to Galveston in Feb, 2015 to add a third ship for 7-day itineraries similar to Magic. Otherwise, both Triumph and Magic resume their normal schedules. Isn't it great to have these new itinerary choices at a Texas port?

M_GO_BLUE Posted August 5, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 5, 2014 I have my eye on that B2B Galveston/San Juan in Jan '16. Do you think they'll expand the dates and offer it in summer months? That would rock.
CruisinMama7 Posted August 5, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 5, 2014 Those dates are the only extended cruises offered out of Galveston at the present time. The Port of Galveston announced plans that a 3rd cruise terminal is going to be built to accommodate a larger ship (RCCL has committed to bring in a larger ship). And since we're getting a third Carnival ship, the Freedom, I wouldn't be surprised if the longer itineraries are added sometime in the future. Carnival also announced they're going to build a new cruise port of call on an island right off Haiti, much like they did with Mahogany Bay in Roatan, Honduras, and other locales. Add all that together, I can just feel big changes in the wind for Galveston's future cruise industry. After all, Galveston is the 4th largest cruise port in the USA now. :-)
DMH15 Posted August 5, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 5, 2014 Thrilled. One hour on Southwest with 2 checked bags for free. I look forward to more Galveston cruises.
MrBanana1240 Posted August 5, 2014 #9 Share Posted August 5, 2014 I know I live in Maryland but I'm just as excited to see some of these new itineraries. Hopefully I can cruise from galveston someday. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
