Enchantment 7/28 mini review

Hi all, some comments on my recent cruise on Enchantment. Not a play-by-play and no pictures, just my high and (very few) low points.

This cruise was my idea, a "poker cruise" sponsored by Ante-UP magazine, so, obviously, I played a lot of poker and didn't partake of a lot. But I did spend some time with DW (both 57) and can comment on some things.

Off we go:

Embarkation. Smooth as silk. Directed immediately into a very short line for Gold Crown and Anchor and was on the ship and eating in WJ inside of 40 minutes. Ran into someone I know from the poker group so sat and talked until muster

Muster: They really need to figure out a better way to do this. At least you don't have to wear your life jackets. I don't know why the crew can't have handheld devices that scan the SeaPass cards. They were circulating trying to check people off a paper list. Well, it's only 30 minutes or so of the cruise.

Stateroom: Was ready by 1:20. Extension cord requested from guest services for DW's CPAP was already there. On previous cruises we had to ask the Cabin Steward. Speaking of, Carl (I think, name not so sure) was great. Very creative with towel critters. One night we came in and he made a turtle that was wearing my sunglasses that I had left in the cabin. Another night he might a person who was wearing DW's beach hat and was holding the TV remote. Carl turned the TV on to channel 14 and our new roomie was watching all bout RCI!:) Only glitch was the toilet stopped working. They got it fixed the same day but was still a little iffy. Also, the guy two staterooms down was smoking on his balcony, but only once that I noticed so I didn't say anything. Also, just FYI I was able to bring a powerstrip on board. Perhaps they missed it since it was in a slightly concealed compartment in my luggage.

MDR. Outstanding. Food was good, extra helpings when requested. Although I kind of wish the helpings were larger. Some meals the portion was so small you had to get a second entree.

WJ. Mostly Breakfast and lunch. Only complaint was lack of variety. Basically same food every day. On the last day ate lunch and dinner in WJ and had the same hotdogs and hamburgers on the buffet. And at times some of the stations got really busy, but they are still better than Carnival's cafeteria style.

Drink Package: Got the Royal Replenish which is sodas and coffee and loved it. I was never a big drinker and the all you can drink, I never thought I'd make it worthwhile. But drank a gallon of soda and coffee. The Coke Freestyle machines are great and you can get soda by the glass in the MDR and Casino. And specialty coffee in the MDR and Cafe Lattitudes.

Crew: Amazing. All great. Capt. Gus is a hoot, but if you want to sail with him you will have to do it on the Quantum, because that's where he's going next week ( i think)

Entertainment: What we saw was amazing. Really enjoyed the two production shows: Can't Stop the Rock and From Stage to Screen. The second show was movies and broadway and included segments of Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors and Hairspray. Singers and dancers were very talented. Again, while I didn't actually do much, the Compass was chock full of activities and shows. As another poster said, don't miss the captains reception and flag show.

Casino: Wish I had won more. But the dealers were excellent and friendly. Plenty of reasonable stakes, with most games having $5 or $6 minimums

Disembark. If getting on was easy, getting off was amazing. It seemed like there was no one on the ship. Very few people in my staging area and we walked right off and were in our car in under 30 minutes, including claiming luggage and Customs.

Any questions, feel free to ask!

Great cruise and will cruise Enchantment again.

It was great to meet you and look forward to more Ante Up cruises (looks like next one for us will be 11/15- hopefully it will be Argentinian Off Season)) Scott Chris and crew made it fun.

Did you get off in Nassau? Coco cay? Thanks for the input!

DW got off in Coco Cay. She did the nature walk which she said she wasn't overly impressed with. It was relatively short and she wasn't sure the guide knew a lot of what she was talking about.

We both got off in Nassau and did a day pass at the Colonial Hilton. Pool and beach were great. Food from poolside restaraunt was good.

Glad to hear BCH was good. Planning on spending the day in Nassau there! Did you purchase a day pass before you got there or when you got there?

We got it in advance from resortforaday.com
