FrugalMother99 Posted August 6, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2014 (edited) Hi everyone. We have ressies on hold until Fri for the Norwegian Spirit 6/24/2015 12 day grand Mediterranean from Venice to Barcelona. Our travel agent placed us in BD/9670 port side/balcony which opens up to the elevators/stairs. This location doesn't seem desirable because of the potential noise especially since we're one deck up from the Theater. We were told 9686 (also port/balcony but 6 cabins back) is available -- isn't going toward the mid better than aft for motion? This is also below the Splash Academy/above stage of Theatre. Asked what was available in the next category/price range -- BB/9606 port/mid ship balcony @ $238 more. This is our teenager's 1st cruise & husband/wife haven't been on a cruise since 1999. Husband doesn't get sea sick. Our teen sometimes gets "air" sick but I think it's more because of the nervousness of flying. Any thoughts or suggestions on cabins would be appreciated! joteacher Posted August 6, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2014 Mid-ship is a great spot to be. Personally, we always look for cabins that are close to the elevator/stairs because it makes it so easy to locate the cabin:D I'm not sure how much noise you'll get from the theater; I can tell you the noise from the stairs/elevator shouldn't bother you. We stayed in cabin 6535 on the Spirit (very LARGE inside), and we never heard any noise at all. Good luck choosing your cabin and have a great cruise...you'll love the Spirit! ~Joanne

Da-Painter Posted August 7, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 7, 2014 According to the NCL web site, there are lots of cabins for BD in the 9500 numbers, mid ship available. Or, choose a BX Guarantee, those are less expensive, we did this cruise a year+ ago, and ended up with a cabin on deck10 midship. We have never had a bad result with the Guarantees. Also look into joining aarp, its $16/yr, and you would save about $100 per person. That's worth it. Most of the balconies on the Spirit are the same. You never hear any hallway noise in your cabin, so being near the elevators would not likely to be loud. Its a great cruise and ship, enjoy. ;)
