QShip Posted August 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2014 We will be in Saguenay on Thanksgiving. Is this going to be a problem? Do Canadians close everything down for their Thanksgiving? Are there any local celebrations we could take in?
maryann ns Posted August 8, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 8, 2014 I will guess that there will be a few things open. It is not as huge a holiday as American Thanksgiving, but it is a holiday.
ellieanne Posted August 8, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 8, 2014 I was in Saguenay last year on Canadian Thanksgiving. I really did not notice that the holiday had much of an effect at all on local businesses. This is my blog post from that port stop. It was a chilly, but not overly cold, overcast, drippy-rain day, so my pictures are a bit grey. I would apologize for that, but it really wasn't my fault. http://callaway213.blogspot.com.au/2014/01/thankful-for-timmies.html

ellieanne Posted August 9, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 9, 2014 I've also been in Montreal on Canadian Thanksgiving. I really found that the holiday didn't impact a whole lot, especially in areas where tourists will be. In my experience, it's not really like US Thanksgiving Day where most things are closed.
