Jen1 Posted August 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2014 Hi, Can anybody provide me with some advice with regards to the Sindu restaurant on the Azura. My Mum and I are booked onto the ship on the 31st August. My Mum loves Indian, spicy food but I don't. In March when we were on the Azura, we met a couple who told us they did a steak. Does anybody know if this is correct? Also we were told by the same couple that the restaurant also offers onion bhaji's and poppadoms. I've reviewed the menus on the P & O website but no mention of this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Jenny
sueandphil Posted August 10, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 10, 2014 You will find the food very different from your local high street curry house. The food is not generally spicy hot but delicately flavoured. Try for instance the biryani, it comes in a pie dish with a pastry top
sueandphil Posted August 10, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 10, 2014 Sorry, I remember once having a beef tenderloin in Sindu, it came with a creamy sauce. Perhaps this is what you are thinking of?:)

bobby67 Posted August 10, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 10, 2014 As the food in Sindu is cooked for you you can have it as spicy as you wish. The waiter will ask you. You can have a steak with or without sauce. We had a wonderful meal in Sindu last year. Carolyn
gelfy666 Posted August 10, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 10, 2014 I would recommend a visit..... And to be honest I cant knock the food in any of the restaurants on the ship... Even though some people moan.
sagaris Posted August 11, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 11, 2014 We ate in Sindhu this year and the food was sublime, and I do not like 'Indian food' i.e. curries.:) There are two different menus which they alternate, and I found that one menu for me was better than the other as there was more that I liked. groovechick Posted August 11, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 11, 2014 One way to test the water might be to try the "nashta", the little snacks/samples of dishes that they serve at lunchtime. As me and the children are not keen on hot spicy food, this is what we did and thoroughly enjoyed it and found it wasn't fiery/chilli hot at all. Also surprisingly filling and a lovely, different lunch to the buffet. That should then give you an idea whether you would want to book for dinner there. Antmadmanda Posted August 11, 2014 #9 Share Posted August 11, 2014 Well worth to cover charge. There is a steak, and it's not particularly spicy! Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Spikey M Posted August 12, 2014 #12 Share Posted August 12, 2014 Can you book lunch before you go? We have booked and paid for an evening meal there, bit don't recall seeing a lunch option. How in demand is it? Difficult to book?
BrianI Posted August 12, 2014 #13 Share Posted August 12, 2014 You should have no difficulty in getting in. They are always having special offers to entice people and never seem to be full, especially on a longer cruise. Brian
