luckymal Posted August 18, 2014 #26 Share Posted August 18, 2014 When we sail in and out of Brooklyn, we do an overnight stay close to the port (except holiday sailings). We've taken the subway into Manhatten a few times. Easy and quick......with no traffic worries. Thanks again for the reply, but the problem is arrive morning depart late afternoon same day.;)

luckymal Posted August 18, 2014 #28 Share Posted August 18, 2014 If there are traffic problemshttp://www.nywatertaxi.com/tours/redhook Thank you Pennbank for quick reply. The 1st Taxi from Ikea 12 20pm would give only a very short time in N.Y. Would not like to take the risk, $5 very cheap, but to miss ship would make a very expensive taxi back to England so it looks like Brooklyn Heights next time we do the round trip.;)
brigittetom Posted August 18, 2014 #29 Share Posted August 18, 2014 Thanks again for the reply, but the problem is arrive morning depart late afternoon same day.;) I know, but most in transit passengers go into Manhatten for the day just because it's not to be missed. It's very doable by leaving the ship first thing in the morning....and watching your time.....even by subway. You should always stay in your comfort zone though, for many reasons. Brooklyn is a wonderful experience as well. Enjoy. :)
