gristy1962 Posted August 14, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2014 I'm visiting cherbourg in november 2014 and have heard about horsedrawn carriages that meet the cruise ships and take you on a tour of the town. Is this right? Does anybody have any more info. Prices etc. Where they drop you off and how far is it back to ship. Cheers Trev.
nmg85 Posted August 14, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2014 None met the ship when we were there last October. Perhaps they start in the centre of town which is a 15 min walk away
Rare John Bull Posted August 15, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 15, 2014 No personal experience, but November doesn't sound like prime-time for a carriage ride in Cherbourg. Likely to be a little cold for that, & consequently probably no carriages operating. But I stand to be corrected. ;) JB :)
onyx007 Posted August 26, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 26, 2014 I was not on a cruise in Cherbourg, but in July I've not seen any horses around the city. I think there was a little tourist train driving around. If you stay in Cherbourg and don't make any tour, then I can recommend you to visit the great museum "Cité de la Mer".
