Where to buy Blue Mountain Coffee?

Does anyone know where a good place is in Ocho Rios to buy Blue Mountain Coffee. I'm a big coffee drinker and have heard great things about Jamaica's coffee--never have tried it. What can I expect to pay? I would like to bring some home with me.

I bought Jablum's brand and paid 18.95/lb at Strawberry's in Montego Bay. I have no idea if that's a good price in Jamaica or not. However, in Grand Cayman, it was much higher than that.

 

I've had some since I've been home and it is wonderful. However, at that price (I bought 2 lbs), I've been mixing it with a Cuban style roast. Absolutely wonderful.

I can not recall the price, but it was on the shelves of many places we went so you should have not problems finding it. Price did vary and some stores tried to add tax to it others did not. Pick up a few extras as they make great gifts.

Right in Island Village many of the little shops have it for sale. Some by the pound others are smaller packages. I saw prices vary from $12.00 per pound to $22.00 per pound. I had to pick some up for a coworker so were looking. There is a Coffe Shop as you go in the main entrance to the left. Go over a kind of bridge and it sits right there. You can't miss it. You can sample differnet varieties as well.

Be careful where you buy it. I bought some at one of the little shops in the village at the pier and it was AWFUL. It wasn't cheap either. I would stick to one of the more reputable appearing stores

Jablum is the best Jamaican coffee. Make sure you don't buy a blend. They are no where near as good. The store in Island Village was Rum, Roast and (something I can't remember). I haven't bought any in about a year but it was about $18.00 lb. then.

Not that I saw, but we passed on that one and bought from the coffee place for the higher price. I was skeptical as well.

Walk into town past the Village. I paid 8.95 a pound when i purchased 3 one pound packages. Seems the further away you get from the dock the cheaper and more willing they are to deal.

I've got to agree with Piper. I bought some a few years ago, and it was terrible. What I came back with this time was very good.

Our tour guide, Trevor Hudlin, took us up to a market in the hills where Jablum was selling for $15 per pound. You could probably get it for even less if you negotiated for several pounds.
