sandiegojoe Posted August 20, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2014 Getaway Spa Question... Sailing on the Getaway next month... Looking for input from someone who has recently sailed the Getaway... Do you remember the Spa offering any specials for a couples massage?... What was the price?... Thanks... SanDiegoJoe

JenLovesToTravel Posted August 25, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 25, 2014 We waited and waited on our February Getaway and there were no specials on couples massages. I don't think there were specials on any massages. Boo! Fingers crossed that there will be on our September 6th cruise.

sandiegojoe Posted August 25, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted August 25, 2014 Thanks for the replies so far... I went through all of the Getaway dallies I could find and couldn't find any information on spa specials... I did find a price list from the spa that said the normal price for a 50 minute couples message is $269... Most ships have some sort of sale, usually while in port... Still hoping to here from someone who's been onboard and seen some specials... SanDiegoJoe

MrsRissB Posted August 25, 2014 #9 Share Posted August 25, 2014 I know the thermal suite and salt room you have to pay for. But does anyone know if there are other areas of spa you can visit for free? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Forums mobile app
dalgirl Posted August 26, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 26, 2014 You have to pay to access anything in the spa. Sent from my GT-P3113 using Forums mobile app

wasiii Posted August 26, 2014 #12 Share Posted August 26, 2014 (edited) What about the fitness center? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That is a separate area. You have free access to the gym. All the fitness equipment if free of charge. Some classes you have to pay for others you don't. wasiii Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Forums mobile app Edited August 26, 2014 by wasiii

sandiegojoe Posted September 21, 2014 Author #16 Share Posted September 21, 2014 Just got back from the Getaway... Wanted to follow-up on my original post and let everyone know what we found out... We went to the Madara Spa on the first day before leaving port and asked about pricing for the couples massage... We were told the standard price for a 50 minute couples massage is $269 in the couples room... If we made our reservation on embarkation day we would receive 75 minutes for the price of 50 minutes ($269)... And if we booked the couples massage for a shore day we would receive a 10% discount ($242)... They also told us they would tack on a mandatory 18% service charge/gratuity... We couldn't talk them down to a more reasonable price so we decided to pass on the spa services... As a personal observation: This is something I noticed a number of times on this ship... Many things were over priced and therefore many people did not purchase them... If Norwegian would lower the price a little they would sell a lot more of them and make more money in the end... The couples massage is a prefect example... We were looking for a price under $200... The lowest we could get Norwegian to go was $242... So Norwegian lost $199 over a $43 difference in price... And I know they would have sold numerous massages at that price... Doesn't make sense... So there you have it... Hope it helps... SMerritt Posted September 21, 2014 #17 Share Posted September 21, 2014 We usually get flooded with "Spa Specials" once on board. Also, if you are staying in the Haven, your concierge is aware of the good "deals".
