Transportation from Houston to Galveston

We are going on a cruise in January and flying into Houston International and was wondering the best way to get to Galveston. Their will be 6 adults and 3 kids. We are arriving a day early and staying in Galveston. Can anyone give me some feed back on the best place to stay in Galveston for a large group? Thanks for all your help, I appreciate it.
