kendelq Posted August 13, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2005 Hello! I am leaving tomorrow on the majesty (yaaaaaay!) Anyway, I was reading on another thread that on RCL you can actually bring a whole case of water if you put a luggage tag on it. Can you do that on NCl? Anyone done that before? Any last minute tips? Thanks!
Welove2cruise2 Posted August 13, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2005 I've never done it, but I have seen people with whole cases of water and a luggage tag going on the Majesty. I've heard (don't know if it's true) that sometimes there was a bottle or two missing... Enjoy the Majesty! We just love that ship! :D
kendelq Posted August 13, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted August 13, 2005 Thanks! Just got back from BJ'S with a case of water and plan to tag it tonight. Hope Irene doesn't mess things up......
immargaret Posted August 13, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 13, 2005 Bon Voyage! Have a great cruise, I wish I were going back on the Majesty again this summer..:( I've done the luggage tag thing on a case of sodas with no problem.
kendelq Posted August 13, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted August 13, 2005 Thanks Maragret! I am so excited! This is our first anniversary cruise and my DH has never been on one. Poor thing is very sensitive to sae sickness though and Irene is showing no mercy :-) Hope the patch works for him. I haven't been on a cruise in maybe 5 years. immargaret Posted August 13, 2005 #6 Share Posted August 13, 2005 I hope he has tried the patch before, to check for side effects. Be careful using it with any alcohol, or the hot sunny beaches in Bermuda. My hubby gets sick just putting the patch on. I myself find that if I just take the free meclazine that the ship passes out at the front desk I'm fine. I try to take them just before bedtime. Looks like Irene will be doing a job on the waves. I did find that I didn't notice the waves as much when I was sitting at the black jack table in the casino. It is a nice central location and I had other things to think about. kendelq Posted August 13, 2005 Author #7 Share Posted August 13, 2005 Yeah - we both "tried" the patch earlier this week. I hated it (dry mouth, dizzy, jittery) but he didn't even notice it! I am going to start on Bonine tonight to get it into my system. Anyway, thanks for the blackjack tip - can't complain there!
SHINEMAN Posted August 13, 2005 #8 Share Posted August 13, 2005 How do you attach a tag to a carton of water? Do you just give it to the porter or longshoreman at Black Falcon Terminal?
immargaret Posted August 14, 2005 #9 Share Posted August 14, 2005 How do you attach a tag to a carton of water? Do you just give it to the porter or longshoreman at Black Falcon Terminal? The tags were sticky and I just stuck it on (my case of soda) and checked it with the rest of my suitcases with the longshoreman at Black Falcon Terminal. SHINEMAN Posted August 14, 2005 #10 Share Posted August 14, 2005 That sounds easy enuf. Thought the tags just had strings to tie on luggage.
www Posted August 18, 2005 #11 Share Posted August 18, 2005 I just went on the Majesty 7/31 to Aug 7th, It was wonderful. You are very smart to keep the Bonine in your system to ward off seasickness. And your hubby should do fine on the patch (if per chance he doesn't like it, all he has to do is take it off and use Bonine!) Hopefully Irene will be way north of Bermuda by the time you sail out of Boston heading south to Bermuda, but waters can be a little rough going out. you never know, sometimes it is a smooth as glass though. The Majesty is a great ship, and so much fun. Enjoy your cruise and Bermuda!
