Has anyone done any SNUBA in Cozumel? We wil be on the Victory in November and I want to take my family snuba-ing! We did it in St. John and it was really good in theory, yet the site where we were had nothing to see. It was very disappoointing, and we would like to try it again at a better site. Has anyone done this on a Western Carib. itinerary?

Here are a list of Snuba operators:

In addition, Paradise Beach added Snuba this year:

I did Snuba off of Zorro, but you can also Snuba off of Maria del Mar.

Have you snorkeled at Paradise Beach? Is there much to see? We snuba'd at ST. John which I expected to be paradise, and we hardly saw anything...it was very surpriseing. So if I am to do this again, I want it to be spectacular! I also need to do a beach entrance (I guess Chankanaab or Paradise Beach) due to me "freak out" factor!

I also read that the beach at Paradise Beach is rocky. Don't mind this for snorkeleing, but as far as hanging out after the snuba, is there a sandy bottom beach. I have read fun things about this location...just need ot decide if we all want to be around so much...hoopla? Maybe be more fun for the "kids"-21 and 19.

The best shore snorkel is from Dzul Ha, but I don't think any Snuba tours are from there.

I have not snorkeled at Paradise Beach, but can vouch for their Paradise Punches :D. There are supposed to be a few corals heads and such, ahd the pier they built should be attracting fishes. Don't recall rocks, others seem to have found. Next visit I'll try to check it out.

Haven't tried Chankanaab yet, so dunno, but think it is ironshore with trucked in sand dumped on top. A manmade beach.

Not sure "spectacular" and "freak out factor" go together? I liked Snuba from a boat - most operators do leave from shore.

It should be possible to do Snuba and then get some quality beach time.
