Any idea if it will start working again sometime soon?

Hey, you're asking a person in a Brazilian city that was supposed to have a working metro by 2010, and now has a lovely fleet of rusting train cars. And you should see the slick plans they have for a bridge to replace the current ferry-- and the plans may be all any of us live to see.

OK I recognise the senario, living in Euro crisis Spain where we half finished projects which have been abandoned eg hi speed train lines, motorways with no flyovers completed etc etc, then they go and spend money on refurbishing government offices.

Well, we kind of like to think of it as uniquely Brazilian. :-)

Usually has less to do with lack of money than lack of developed country work ethic combined with politicians lining their pockets.

Witness the projects for the WC that were completed last minute or only partially so or badly/unsafely done.
