dressing for dinner--Ber,ida

Recommended Posts

This is our first cruise and the only thing I am worried about is packing the proper clothing for dinner. Those of you who have been before could really help this lady and gent out.

Thank you for any advice.

First relax. You will see a tremendous variety in dressing.

Ladies can simply wear pant suits, or slacks and a top or dresses and men can wear nice slacks and a casual shirt. On informal night they will ask men have a jacket but no tie is necessary. Women can get away with the same outfit they wear on most other nights. Just think about a nice restaurant in your home town that does not require jackets and you have it.

Also remember no one will remember what you wear unless it is way out of the ordinary such as sequins or a ball gown or jeans.

Thank you so much.

I don't plan on sequins, ball gowns, or jeans and the furs are staying home so we should be alright.

You also made my husband's day. Since he is in shirt and tie he has dreaded wearing one on vacation.

Thanks again

I hope that this will be true for the 11 day cruise from NY to Iceland also. My husband is kicking and screaming about wearing a coat and tie! Being a longer cruise there are more "formal nights" but we are really not into the "tux and formal gown" thing.
