Hotels in the San Pedro Area

I'm sure this topic has been raised before but...we're in the early stages of planning a family trip to Mexico in February. We're looking for a nice hotel close to the Princess docks. Has anyone any experience with the Queen Mary?

There are two principal hotels in San Pedro, the Crown Plaza and the Double Tree Inn. The CP is closer to the 'World Cruise Center' that Princess uses but both offer a free shuttle to and from the pier. Personally, I much prefer the location of the the DTI in its park like situation and overlooking the LA Yacht Club. There are a couple of lesser properties but I have no experience with them. Something in Long Beach is an option, like the Hyatt Regency, but you are a $20 cab fare back to San Pedro. We have toured the QM but unless you are a nostalgia buff then it probably not a place you would care to stay at.
