Pre Cruise night Miami

Hi All!! I recently booked the Epic 2/15/15 sailing and am having some trouble finding a hotel the night before. I am not familiar with Miami at all!! I want to be close to the port, but also be able to find a place for dinner the night before.

 

I am running into limited availability and high prices because it's Valentine's Day. There is no availability at Marriott Biscayne Bay, Doubletree next door wants $450 for the night. Any suggestions?

You could try Holiday Inn Port of Miami. It has a great location across the street from Bayside Marketplace where there are a lot of choices for dinner. From a higher floor you can see the ship's in port. It is probably the closest hotel to the port...just have to go over the bridge. It is not a fancy hotel but fine for one night. Bayside is touristy but fun...live music every night. The marina is right there...can take a sightseeing boat out for a tour..great place to keep kids busy if you are traveling with children. A good variety of shops and stores to browse..There is a Bubba Gump Shrimp restaurant, a Chili's , a Hard Rock Cafe and several local places with good seafood. Another hotel a little farther down but still walkable to Bayside is the Intercontinental it is more upscale than the Holiday Inn. Either one is a good choice if you want to be close to the port. Easy to grab a cab to the port in the morning and will cost less than 10 dollars.

I second the Holiday Inn . Right across the street from the outdoor Mall.;)
