Posaune Posted September 21, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2014 I don't know the charge, but I was there the beginning of the month and with two ships in town it was taking people forever to get a cab.
stag Posted September 21, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 21, 2014 It is a short distance. I think the taxi charges $5 per person each way.

CarolRoy Posted September 22, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 22, 2014 You can walk to it. Just walk along the beach and once you past Jack's Shack, just go to the street. Make a left at the street and continue walking. You will see the sign for Columbus Landfall National Park. This is actually what they call Governor's Beach. You have to go on the street to reach Governor’s Beach because of the two government piers protruding into the water. There are nice picnic tables here. Also there were clean restrooms, outside showers, and a beach bar. The beach is absolutely beautiful with only a few people from the cruise ship. It may only take you 15-20 minutes or so. Governor's Beach is about 3/4 mile from the cruise pier if you walk along the beach. It you get hot or tired, just jump in the ocean. You will not be disappointed with GB.
