creekbaby Posted August 18, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 18, 2005 Hi! I am taking my first cruise to the Western Caribbean in September.:) I was wondering how the weather will be - I'm sure that it will be warm, but just wondered if anyone had any advice. Thanks! jayevee44 Posted August 18, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 18, 2005 Creekbaby, We were there last October and it was hot and humid. We took a ship’s tour over to the mainland and while we were gone, there was a major thunderstorm on the island. My advice for Cozumel is if you take a tour of the jungles on the mainland, be sure to take plenty of mosquito repellant. We were eaten alive. Also, have plenty of sunscreen anywhere on your cruise. gonersgirl Posted August 18, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2005 DH and I spent our honeymoon in the Mayan Riveria in Mexico last September (which isn't that far at all from Cozumel..maybe 15 minutes) and the weather was really beautiful. We spent an entire day milling around Playa del Carmen (which is just a ferry ride away from Cozumel) and it was hot out, but no unbearable. Cotton Posted August 18, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 18, 2005 Most of my cruises have been in September. Temp in Cozumel is usually in the mid 80s. If you encounter a little rain, those tropical showers are usually over in 5-10 minutes.:)
