Carnival In Room Safes

Hi I am going on the Carnival Legend in Nov and I am a bit confused on how the in rooms safes operate. I believe you don't put your own code in like other ships I have been on. Some people say you need an old credit card or store card with a magnetic strip. (I normally cut up all my old cards when I get a new one and I don't want to use my current credit card etc as I normally lock this away in the safe.

I did ring Carnival today and she said that you do put your own code in. Hoping some one who has been on the Spirit or the Legend can help me out.

Regards Zanny

I've been on the Carnival Spririt - and yes, you need a card with a magnetic strip on it. I took my Fly Buys card and used that. Made it very easy. Can't speak for the Carnival Legend though - not sure if it's the same on the Legend.

The safes are the same on Carnival Legend as they are on the Spirit. Any card with a magnetic strip on it can be used, Fly Buys, club card, gift card, etc. Only the card that is used to lock the safe will open it.
