Hi, doing the Grand Turks, Aruba and Curaçao in 12 days on the Liberty. Looking for some suggestions as to what's best to see and do on each. Also, really looking forward to being on the Liberty, our first time. What should I make sure that I see and do on board? Is the casino large with many card tables other than BJ? Are the slots fairly new ones?? Casino staff friendly?

There are a couple of good reviews on this trips itinerary. Do a search in this forum and it should pull them up. The casino on the ship has different table games but the odds are not the same as on land. It's not really very large and it you don't smoke you will be forced out by the smokers. The slots are fairly new but don't pay the same as land based casino's. As for what to do aboard........ Make sure to eat at the steakhouse ($35 up charge PP) on of the best steaks you'll have. If you are foodie, the Chef's Table is fantastic. Enjoy the Serenity Deck and relax in a Clam Shell or hammock. You'll going to have a great cruise and I'll see you aboard. :D

Grand Turk - spend the day at the Margaritaville pool. It is free and very relaxing.

Aruba - go on the Banana Bus tour. We did that in April and it was a lot of fun

Curacao - we have never been there but check the Ports of Call section for some ideas

We just got off the Liberty in July...

* The casino- not huge...we did ok...the smokers will force you out of there after a bit..I try to go early to play without all that smoke

* Curacao- We did the Coastal/Country Tour with Carnival...love the Boka's ...beautiful...I would however recommend just doing a taxi or private tour out to the Boka's that TOUR bus was HOT and CROWDED

* Aruba- We just got the 4$ bus pass and took it all the way to the end of the line shortly before the lighthouse. We got off periodically to shop a bit then back to the markets right near the pier..(better prices) ..also a little trolley type train you can take near the pier..

* Grand Turk- We did explore the port and Margaritaville area but we ended up taking a 25$ pp tour to Cockburn town (very tiny town) past salt flats and to the lighthouse..we paid the 5$ to go in lighthouse area because the photos I took off the cliff were phenomenal. Tons of Donkeys roaming Grand Turk...

Pretty ship and mostly staff was great...the casino dealers were NOT into their jobs though...not rude just not enthusiastic..

We will be on the cruise with you!!! First time on Liberty for us too. Sounds like you enjoy casinos. There are some on Curacao and Aruba. Right off the ship in Curacao is a welcome area and a casino. We did very well in there last time we cruised there on Freedom a while ago. Don't miss the moving bridge and go over to the Punda and walk around and shop. The floating market is to the left past the shops on the water after you walk over the bridge. Interesting area to explore. Have stayed in Willemstad twice for a week each time. Love Curacao!!!

Jacks shack on Grand Turk. Just a sort walk down the beach. Gopher the dog is great and the jerked chicken and conch were awesome

We had a lot of fun at Jack's when we were there. It helps to get away from some of the crowds around the pool and Margaritaville. Google Jack's Grand Turk and get your free rum shot coupon! :p

Irie Tours in Curacao! They are awesome! We used them for a large group for a day trip and another large group for an afternoon trip. Wonderful people to work with. They will make recommendations and also customize your trip for you if you want.

Imho, Curacao is one of the prettiest places in the Caribbean. Of course, as I think of each island, I can think of at least a dozen other beautiful spots!! :p

I did a review of our May 9 sailing on Liberty that had this itinerary. My SD card went up on me so there are no photos in the review, but I tried to be detailed. You will love it this itinerary, it is by far my favorite we have done!

You'll find lots of helpful information by checking out each of your port stops on the Ports of Call board here on CC. ;)

We've enjoyed the following:

Grand Turk - We prefer being at Margaritaville ... close, free, large pool.

Aruba - DePalm Island is nice. Great place to see and swim with LOTS of beautiful Blue Parrot Fish.

Curacao - Seaquarium Beach is good for a beach day.

Have a GREAT cruise! :D

We did this itinerary plus La Romana on the Freedom. I gave a very detailed, picture-laden review here on CC.

Summary of our port days:

Aruba: Jeep Island tour (excellent)

Curacao: taxi to Porto Mario for snorkeling and beach sunset. Then walked across the Queen Bridge at night (great).

Grand Turk: hung out at Margaritaville and the beach adjacent to dock. Took a walk along the secluded beach to the conch graveyard. (Very good)

Walk across the floating bridge in Curacao! Just follow the crowd. I kid you not, just follow!

Lots of shopping, quaint shops and cafes, restaurants, music on the street and more! We really enjoyed just walking around Curacao - and we are usually more "get out and do" people. Very photogenic port! There was a very cool drum troupe that entertained us as we headed back to the ship!

In Aruba we took a power snorkel with Aruba Bob. Highly recommended, if this is your thing. Not really a beginner snorkel if you want to see the good stuff - we snorkeled about a mile but you do have the power scooters to assist you! Beautiful day! And more great shopping! Lots and lots of shopping, right off the port! We had plenty of time to shop and wander around after Aruba Bob's excursion.

I would love to do this itinerary again!
