PacificDisMom Posted October 28, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 28, 2014 Are there any family friendly, free beaches in Montego Bay? Or anything else to do free or low in cost other than walking around the shopping area? Thank you!

mrsfuzzmo Posted November 7, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 7, 2014 The only really decent beach in Montego Bay that is not associated with a resort is Doctor's Cave Beach. That's where most cruisers go. I don't believe it's free, but it's a nominal charge for chairs and such. It's a nice beach for a couple of hours. It's also right on the hip strip so you can walk to some restaurants and shop as well. I beleive there is a HOHO bus that goes from the cruise port to the Hip Strip and Doctor's Cave, but that will come at a small cost as well. There isn't much right there at the Port of Montego Bay, so you'd need to head over to the Hip Strip, do a tour, or go to a resort for the day. P&B Toronto Posted November 30, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 30, 2014 Doctors Cave is $5 US to get into. There is great snorkelling by the buoy line. Cornwall Beach is right beside, it is $3, no snorkelling and less trees for shade. You can swim over into DR Cave reef area. Both are private beaches and you do not have vendor bothering you.
