Free beaches in Montego Bay?

The only really decent beach in Montego Bay that is not associated with a resort is Doctor's Cave Beach. That's where most cruisers go. I don't believe it's free, but it's a nominal charge for chairs and such. It's a nice beach for a couple of hours. It's also right on the hip strip so you can walk to some restaurants and shop as well. I beleive there is a HOHO bus that goes from the cruise port to the Hip Strip and Doctor's Cave, but that will come at a small cost as well.

There isn't much right there at the Port of Montego Bay, so you'd need to head over to the Hip Strip, do a tour, or go to a resort for the day.

Doctors Cave is $5 US to get into. There is great snorkelling by the buoy line. Cornwall Beach is right beside, it is $3, no snorkelling and less trees for shade. You can swim over into DR Cave reef area. Both are private beaches and you do not have vendor bothering you.
