New Wifi

Hey,

 

just read that carnival was rolling out a new wifi offering that will be 10x faster. That is of a lot of interest to me ( i know some people like the disconnect but i am not one of those people).

 

I haven't seen any pricing for the new plan-- will it keep the old ridiculous per minute pricing? or will we finally see some unlimited plans roll out? any one hearing anything...

No idea of what the pricing will be, but there are already several threads of discussion about the new WiFi on the board.

Have heard about the wifi but no rates as of yet.

I would not expect prices to decrease, but perhaps unlimited plans to be offered.

 

With technology improvements on land or sea, it seems to me the price stays the same, but you get more.

the way i see it offering improved wifi speeds at the old prices don't really appeal to anyone as they are too expensive to make someone want to do it.

Enough people are obviously purchasing it, otherwise CCL would not invest this kind of money into improving it.

And yes it is expensive but I am sure it was and will be expensive to build and maintain.

maybe. but if they want it to be successful and reach the base they claimed in the press release they need to make instant connection easier not 240min of connection for hundreds of dollars. i guess time will tell.

Absolutely! And I sincerely hope the prices come down! I just don't expect it right away.
