we're going on a cruise to the bahamas the end of october. interested in what the water temperature will be that time of year for snorkeling. anyone know of websites that give the average water temperatures by the month in different regions? thanks.

i've posted a couple questions on the scuba and snorkeling section and have not gotten a response. is this not a very popular sport or what? or maybe i'm asking dumb questions...........

We snorkeled in the Bahamas last year the week of October 16th. I don't know what the water temp actually was, but it was very warm - no need for a wetsuit, or even a long sleeved shirt on the boat afterwards.

I know what you mean about posting and not getting a response. Maybe most folks just like to read the questions to see if the info is pertinent to them. Anyway, my wife and I are going to the Bahamas on the Carnival Fantasy on the 30th of Oct. We booked a car for Freeport as there are supposed to be several fairly good snorkel places on the West End, Paradise Cove, Deadman's Reef, etc. We booked Blue Lagoon for our Nassau stop and have heard good things about it. Not much on the "Vendor Sales Pitch" on most of the islands... just like to Bake and Chill.
