sheilb4 Posted November 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2014 Am going on her soon and just very curious how she is as the reviews are not the best..... I know we all have different expectations... I have enjoyed the Enchantment any times due to the most friendly staff.... So how is Vision? PRgymnast Posted November 8, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 8, 2014 I was on her for the 9/25 cruise. We had a fantastic time! Pool bar was a bit slow but once I realized how much better service and menu was at R Bar, Casino Bar, Schooner Bar, ect were, I stopped going to the pool bar. :) Staff in general was fantastic, minus a couple of bartenders at the Pool Bar. Ship was great. MDR was good. Giovanni's & Izumi were fantastic. Night club was OK but that usually meant a late breakfast in the Windjammer. Also, just OK but that's what we get for sleeping in. Entertainment was average but I'm a lil hard to please in that regard so I'd say it was fine for a cruise. I did enjoy the Thriller by the cruise guests. Enjoy your cruise! It is what you make it! Topo Gigio Posted November 8, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 8, 2014 Just came back from 2 cruises on her. The Sept 20 & Oct 27 sailing. What I noticed was that it was among the less friendly crew I have seen on any Royal Caribbean ship. I even commented it to the concierge. Just came back from the Majesty yesterday, and it was much better, but still not up to Royal Caribbean standards!
Luv2Kruize Posted November 8, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 8, 2014 Just off of Vision this past Thursday! Had a wonderful time and the crew is one of the best! Very friendly and willing to help out if needed. Captain Lis is great and very personable! She even let us take pictures with her on the bridge tour with her Captain's hat on. Only complaint would be that the Diamond Lounge and Concierge Lounge is very overcrowded. Having the 3 drinks added to your SeaPass card is great and very easy to use. That was my second time on the Vision and would book it again in a heartbeat!:D:D:D
JimAOk1945 Posted November 8, 2014 #6 Share Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) Are there two separate lounges (Diamond Lounge and Concierge Lounge )? Edited November 8, 2014 by JimAOk1945
Luv2Kruize Posted November 8, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 8, 2014 Are there two separate lounges (Diamond Lounge and Concierge Lounge )? Yes. The Diamond Club is on Deck 6 on the left as you enter the Some Enchanted Evening Lounge. The Concierge Club is in the Viking Crown Lounge on Deck 11 Port side. sheilb4 Posted November 8, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted November 8, 2014 Thanks for your responses.... Interesting that some thought crew were great and another the opposite experience. I kniw I was kinda spoilt on Enchantment and felt the crew etc were some of the friendliest I had ever seen.... Not to worry, a cruise is indeed what you make it and as long as I get lots of great sunshine I am usually content! Lol I usually frequent the pool bar and R bar so hope I get an upbeat and positive experience on Vision. Also will go to Concierge and Diamond lounge.... Concierges ok? Who are they? aurelius180 Posted November 9, 2014 #12 Share Posted November 9, 2014 (edited) Just off the Vision on the 10/23 sailing. It was by far the worst staff, overall, of any of our cruises. Our MDR service was superb and one bar waiter in the Schooner was terrific. Otherwise the staff was pretty poor, particularly the bartenders. We actually mentioned it to our headwaiter and he addressed it with the beverage manager. She was kind enough to visit with us at our table in the MDR to discuss our concerns. She seemed very receptive and indicated some of the changes they've been working on as this has been an ongoing concern. PRgymnast Posted November 9, 2014 #14 Share Posted November 9, 2014 The name of the concierge on Vision is Mangesh or MK. He was awesome! Super friendly and extremely accommodating!!! He did his job well, IMO.

sheilb4 Posted November 10, 2014 Author #17 Share Posted November 10, 2014 (edited) Interesting to read the different opinions.... Thanks for posting your views, I shall check it out and write a review on my return. I go in 5 weeks so shall see for myself... Lol If I encounter any unfriendly, miserable crew I will also let someone know about it. The happy crew make such a difference, that's why I still favor Enchantment, although my recent cruise on Freedom was mostly positive. At least with bar staff.. Guest services... Oh boy... Very unfriendly but that's another discussion, lol. Any other snippets about the Vision, I would love to read more..... Thanks again all. Perception is very personal, but this was a very pleasurable, relaxing cruise. We stayed in a junior suite and we were never bothered by noise from the pool deck. We were under the solarium area. The ship was clean and service was excellent. I think you are going to have a fabulous time! I did not have to wait for my drinks long, but I do go right to the bar. The Diamond Lounge was a bit crowded, but seats for all and I had an enjoyable time.
alwaysflyin Posted November 10, 2014 #19 Share Posted November 10, 2014 I sailed the Vision for five nights 10/18 to 10/23. For what we paid it was a good value. The Windjammer food wasn't the best but everything else was just fine.
mollyeilis Posted November 13, 2014 #20 Share Posted November 13, 2014 Captain Lis is great and very personable! She even let us take pictures with her on the bridge tour with her Captain's hat on Well now I'm confused. We were on Vision 10/18-23, and we had a male captain and they talked about how this is his first permanent captain position on a ship yadda yadda. OP we liked it enough. The only problem I had was a combo of my own sensitivities and rotten weather. Oh and we were in a panoramic oceanview stateroom off the centrum. Bad weather pushes smokers into the casino, after hours and hours of that it starts billowing out and up (and down, even, by the evening) in the Centrum, which results in a miserable time for those of us with very sensitive systems. Thankfully it didn't make it under our door, but it was in the hallway and I had a pretty hard time of it. :( I personally won't be booking a cruise on Vision class again, as long as that combo of events can happen. Which is a bummer, because otherwise I liked the ship. And we liked the food WAY more than the Disney cruise we went on directly after. Servers, too. Capt. Lis is 'on' currently - I think she started present rotation on 10/27. When you were on Vision, Captain Slaby was the Master. He has a lot of experience. His previous position was Staff Captain. Edited November 13, 2014 by wieslaw
