sueernieb Posted August 21, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2005 We are booking a cruise that leaves and returns from Los Angeles. We are planning on using frequent flier miles and wonder what the distance from the airport to the port would be. Thanks. Sue

Retired not Expired Posted August 21, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2005 You might also look at some of the other smaller airports out there. There is one closer to the port. When I fly out there (not for a cruise), I fly into Ontario. Much less hassle and congestion than LAX. I would do a search at one of the sites like expedia for LAX and airports within 50 miles and see what else is available. You can then book it through the airline for your flyer miles. Sandel Posted August 21, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 21, 2005 You may also want to fly into Long Beach (LGB). Sandy
Ella2 Posted August 21, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 21, 2005 Ontario is an easier airport but MUCH further away from the port, by another 45-50 miles. Long Beach is a great airport, VERY small with very limited airlines, but if you can use miles to get in there it's a great choice. SNA (Orange County) is about the same distance from the port as LAX, and again, smaller than LAX. The time from LAX to the port will vary depending on traffic, but as parrothead said, 45 minutes is a good estimate. :)
