Clarea Posted November 12, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 12, 2014 Where do I look to see where the Serenade of the Seas will dock in each port for the sailing on May 23, 2015 out of Copenhagen? I start here and find each port: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/ports/home.do?cS=NAVBAR&pnav=1&snav=8 Sometimes they have directions to the specific pier and sometimes they don't. tellubob Posted November 12, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted November 12, 2014 Thank you, but I am wondering which particular dock so I know how to proceed wth busses or walking to sights.
windjamming Posted November 12, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 12, 2014 CruiseCritic's port guide has pretty decent information regarding dock location. Not sure I can link to it from here, but you can get to it from the "Destinations" button in the banner on this page. I would also suggest having a peek at some reviews for ideas regarding sights/buses from port. As I recall NorbertsNiece posted a detailed blog of her Ultimate Scandinavian cruise earlier this year. Note- Tom's Port Guides also has in-depth info regarding dock location and walkable sights for a limited list of ports. Unfortunately the only port on your cruise that he's written about is Copenhagen. If it's worthwhile to you, have a look. (Google Tom's Port Guides). We have used it for our cruises and found it very helpful. As I'm sure you know, you've picked a very walkable itinerary. With the exception of St. Petersburg, you'll be either in or very close to major destinations in the city.
tellubob Posted November 13, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted November 13, 2014 Thank you for your help. Norbertsniece blog was very informative. I will figure out where we dock as things get closer. I like to plan as early as possible. I determined from reading posts and I am pleased that we can be independent walking around. We will continue to do research. Of course, will have a tour in SPB... PirateBert Posted November 17, 2014 #6 Share Posted November 17, 2014 From what we could see you are trapped into an organised tour in St Petersburg because of the visa rules. For the other ports we intend to do our own thing. Only concern is with the Helsinki stop as we depart in the early afternoon.
flygirl77 Posted March 2, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 2, 2015 Where do I look to see where the Serenade of the Seas will dock in each port for the sailing on May 23, 2015 out of Copenhagen? My husband and I will also be on that cruise. I have found the following port websites extremely helpful in finding expected docks for the ship. Looks like most are within walking, depending on how far you like to walk. Stockholm is scheduled for Stadsgarden dock berth s167 right now, and Helsinski is West Harbour. I've done some research on Helsinski so far, it's about 30 min walk to the center, or there is tram 9 or 6t that runs right near the dock. I've found google maps to be of extreme help in finding the transportation options, as well as street views. I like to be very prepared when I cruise, and have an idea of how to get where we want to go. With such a short amount of time, I don't like to waste time trying to figure it out on day of. Hope this information helps you out. :) http://www.portofhelsinki.fi http://www.portofstockholm.com http://www.portoftallin.com http://www.hsl.fi/en public transport in Helsinski
