Can't wait to read your latest review of our beloved Zuiderdam.. will be sailing her on Sept 10th & 17th.

Did you get to meet the current HM and if so, how was he.. I had read another post that he was rather cool and curt to other CC members when approached. I was certainly hoping to meet Mr. Deering but I understand he won't be back on the Zuiderdam until October

I unfortunately did not have an opportunity to meet the Hotel Manager, Mr. Van Regemorter, so I cannot comment on his demeanor. I did, however, receive a lovely email from him regarding a note I sent him concerning a new gaming feature and some particularly outstanding service we had from certain personnel. He will be on vacation in November and returns in December for Zuidy's 2-week drydock.

I'm working on the review, but first I had to book Zuidy #6.

Welcome Home Candy, glad to see you back. Although I am sure you wish you were still on your other home the Zuiderdam:D

Looking forward to hearing your review of this cruise.

Yes, life can be cruel. The only way to overcome this awful withdrawl was to book Zuidy #6, so I did.

Candy <-- will be back 'home' on 11/13/05

Candy, I loved your response to the "Princess cruiser" review. The poor soul should have known better than to speak ill of your beloved Zuidy! :D That nickname has stuck, btw...I've been using it on our roll call. Looking forward to your review of #5!

Candy,

Did you play Texas Hold em? If so did they oil that squeaky door? Always sounded like a haunted mansion when it was opened. lol

If so was Delia or Damian dealing? How about George the casino manager?

They were all super the week i was aboard.

No, I don't play, but I was 'thrown out' for talking about dice in the 'quiet room' :( You're right... nothin' quiet about that door! After a few days they simply left it open.

Damian dealt craps on the first night (when I won the most money), but I don't remember Delia and never got to meet George. Allen Brown, Richard, Maribell and another supervisor with glasses that I can't remember his name were absolutely great, and Paul (who actually trains dealers at hold'em) dealt poker. Jim played in every game and walked the table a couple of times... we had an absolutely wonderful time! Most of them will be gone by the time we return in November, though.

You mentioned "Maribel"....is that Maribel who is the Guest Relations Supervisor at the Front Desk? She is wonderful if it is the same. I would love to hear that she is back. Hunky Dory should be back for your Cruise #6 too. I emailed him the other day to see when in Sept he is returning, but no word yet. Glad you had a wonderful cruise! Lisa

No, Maribel is a dealer - one of the best! Hunky is due back on HAL in mid-September, but has not answered my emails all summer. Even though I made a big deal about 'knowing' Imam, Donny Walker did not remember my name all week... Hunky, we miss you!
