Cheers Non-Alcoholic Drink & Soda question

I understand with the cheers program that they do not allow you to order more than 1 drink at a time.... but was wondering if they will let you order an alcoholic beverage with either a non-alcoholic drink or soda at the same time. or if the 5 minute rule applies to everything ordered... thanks.

I can not say for certain about Cheers, but with the bottomless bubbles they will only give you one soda at a time. So, I would guess it would be the same with the Cheers program. Of course a lot depends on the bartender or server.

I think the one at a time rule has more to do with limiting sharing than the alcohol.

Yes, the 5 min between orders is for all drinks whether its alcohol or non...

While this is probably 100% correct by design, I did discover that non-alcohol beverages can receive a definite 'over ride' for service.

.

Last month on a particularly hot day onboard Carnival Breeze, the following conversation (almost verbatim) took place at the pool bar.

.

Ahh, that was good. I just need one refill.

It'll be a few minutes until I can get that for you.

There's a limit on refills?

Well, yes and no. It'll only be a few minutes.

I guess I misunderstood the soda program being called Bottomless Bubbles.

Yes, that's right.

But I see the bottom. Do you see the bottom?

Oh, that's the first time anyone has asked me that.

Perhaps I'll suggest a new name to Carnival.

No. You are right. Here you go. Have a good afternoon. See you later.

:D

The only difference is there is no 15 limit to the virgin/soda drinks

Copyofth_Carnival-VIFP-Platinum_zps41db4d4e1_zps02e438c7.jpgI still cruise for Warm Chocolate Melting Cake (with 2 sugar-free vanilla ice-creams)

Can't speak for bubbles or cheer - except I have traveled with people who bought a package with the casino card. Just to keep a drink in their hand.

Different rules for different guests on refills. Big tippers = more refills.

The drink card : There was a 15 minute limit for soda and water on the Breeze, Glory and Conquest in Oct 2014 - I did a 5 week back to back and it was the same all 5 weeks. The Freedom played by the same rules in August too. I normally get free drinks and they adhere to the 15 minute from when it was entered into the system. May take them 15 minutes to get it back to you at peak times. The comp includes the tip but when I tip on top - I have gotten as many as I wanted to take to the room,,,,,at the wee hours of the morning,,,,,, Different rules I have noticed when it thins out and they don't even make tickets for waters and soda that late at night. :D

So after all that - tip above what the casino pays the servers and ask for extra drinks. Just keep in mind - you can pay ahead and buy 6 cans for $10 and have them in your room. Same with water. So tipping a $1 may or may not be your best deal.
