Best cabin on Coral for Panama Canal

Looking to book a balcony cabin on the Coral for the Panama Canal cruise. Any suggestions for the best location?

If your question is in reference to what location is best for viewing the passage through the canal, that is difficult to answer. There is no way to predict what lane the ship will be in. In addition, I did not think there was a very good view from our mini-suite balcony (C217).

My suggestion is to book a cabin mid-ships to minimize the effect of rough seas (we had a couple of days between the canal and Grand Cayman). I would view the transit from on deck and we found the stern to be excellent. It was practically deserted and we had a great view of everything - the "mules" in action, other ships entering the canal, the locks in operation, etc.

The Coral is a beautiful ship and our 10 night itineray (partial transit) was outstanding.

Starboard side shows C. America on approach. Do research on balconies through searches of this forum..some large, some uncovered. At least partially covered perhaps for inclement weather, esp. considering your destination. Depending on season, midships good for less rock and roll, and forward maybe not so good due to exposure. Watch bumpouts nearness as view obstructors. Some folks choose location based on ship activities location.

I'm going to the Canal in Oct, and am aft on caribe deck. I hear this deck has some of the best balconies. Last cruise on a different ship, I was located on Dolphin deck, which was a completely exposed balcony. No privacy and can't sit out all the time b/c sun exposure, etc. (My TA said it was private b/c balcony access was restricted to that specific stateroom. Waaaah? I think privacy entails line of sight too)

Hope this helps.

It is very hard to state where the best cabin is going through the canal. It just depends on what lane the ship is going to use. Do a search on this forum. and put in "Coral staterooms". All sorts of info comes up. Have a great cruise.
