suesie Posted January 27, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2015 We applied direct to the Indian high commission ( link as above) We sent them off on Monday 16th January .we were kept well informed as to progress by emails and texts ( all automated). The passports were retuned by post on Saturday 23rd January. Expensive particularly because of the postal orders but worth it Hope this helps Susan
kuldalai Posted January 28, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 28, 2015 Getting an Indian travel visa is just so complicated. The British invented RED tape but it has taken our INDIAN friends to perfect it . As Commonwealth countries India make it even more difficult for Brits and Aussies . Endless pages of questions and bureacracy, standard size passport photos not accepted and so on . And pages of questions re whether one has ever been to Pakistan, thinking of Pakistan, etc . An absolute obsession with questions concerning Pakistan . Nice country, great people and great tourist sights when you get there, but the unfriendliness of the Indian tourist visa process will not have me rushing back to India any time soon . Read the instructions and follow them to the letter of the law or your application will come back to you faster than an Indian express train .
