Island Princess Southbound-book portside cabin?

I'm about to book a one way Alaskan cruise on Island Princess southbound from Whittier to Vancouver. Is it correct that there will be better viewing of the land from our balconies on the port side of the ship? Thanks so much!

Yes it can be better on Port side for southbound trips. However, one of our reserved cabins was changed (without our knowing it) to starboard and had great views also. Next time I won't get so worked up over which side

If you're staying inside the inside passage the whole way, port would be best southbound as there are several areas of open sea on the west side.
