Bawjaws Posted December 25, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 25, 2014 Hello - I am sailing from Singapore on 30 January to Malaysia (KL and Penang), Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh) and Thailand (Bangkok and Ko Samui) and hoping to get info about likely weather conditions. I know it will be hot and humid, and possibly rainy, but will it be sunny? Do I need sunscreen? Any advice would be much appreciated! :)

Enjoy your trip. K

You always need sunscreen when travelling in the tropics, whatever the time of year, just as you will need a hat and plenty of water. You will be coming from the cold of Glasgow to about 30* and while it's not technically 'high humidity' it will be uncomfortable after a Scottish winter.;) Wishing you a wonderful new year and fantastic holiday :D

Searanger Posted December 29, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 29, 2014 Hello - I am sailing from Singapore on 30 January to Malaysia (KL and Penang), Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh) and Thailand (Bangkok and Ko Samui) and hoping to get info about likely weather conditions. I know it will be hot and humid, and possibly rainy, but will it be sunny? Do I need sunscreen? Any advice would be much appreciated! :) It's the dry season north of the equator in those areas...so the odds are it's sunny and beautiful. Now if you were heading south out of Singapore (like Bali) it's their rainy season. Funny thing with prevailing winds.
