b_cruise Posted April 8, 2015 #76 Share Posted April 8, 2015 I love booking tour companies because then everything is done for you!! I took this amazing tour in Naples to positano, sorrento and Amali coast. I think u can add Pompeii in there too. I also did rome on my on and the other time with a tour. I think if you book three tours, you get 50 euros off at italytoursharing.com We are using them this july too. I love cinque de terre too. There are tours there as well. Joe bananas does tours there from Livorno port. Do lots of research....so fun planning.. Venice is so easy on your own. You can get a water bus ticket and go to murano and Burano. I also took the train to Verona to see Romero and juliets house. Very easy to do on your own.
guest4254 Posted May 11, 2015 #77 Share Posted May 11, 2015 To anyone who was following my plan to do a private 3 hour tour of the Vatican, and then make my way back the hotel, and to our cruise ship by 3pm, there was no problem at all! We got back to our hotel just before noon, and checked out shortly after. Our shuttle, Civiti Cab Service, was scheduled to pick us up at 12:15, and they were right on time. We had another couple to pick up, and didn't get to them until almost 1pm. A bit of traffic getting to them, but they were along the way. We got to the ship around 2pm, in plenty of time. We found throughout our cruise tours/shuttles, all these companies were very professional, and in the event of a set back or break down, they would do whatever needed to be done to get you to your ship on time. Though it would have been nice to have been able to relax a bit more, and not rush around, we had an incredible time, saw some amazing sights, and wouldn't trade the experience for anything!!! Thanks to all for the tips, and kind words. Harry Kopy
