St. John Island Tour

we are going next week on Oasis and will stop in St. Thomas. I have been over to St. John in the past and rented a jeep, snorkeled, etc. this time I am going with a non swimmer friend. We want to do one of the RCCL excursions, but are confused about which one to take. They have list the followings:

STP6- St. John National Park Island Tour- 4 hrs with an open air bus tour $50

STL2- St. John Cruise & Beaches - 6hr 30 min Boat cruise around the island and then On our own to shop etc. $44

STO8- St. John Ultimate Island and National Park Beaches- Open air bus tour 3hr 30 min $60

They all transport to and from island and look like free time to shop, but the prices and the times look odd comparing that STP6 and STO8 have almost identical descriptions but different times and prices. The STL2 is not available to book online at this time. I would have liked to tour around the island by boat and then the open bus tour on the island along with shopping.

Anyone been on these tours to advise us?

Many thanks!

I am telling this from the perspective of someone that has gone on my own before. Went on the tour and was very disappointed. The ferry ride was very rough going over and the tour was just up one road and back to town. The tour guide was nice, not much personality. I have been all over St. John in the past and there so much more to see. Saying that, I will say using the tour to get to the island very convenient. My favorite thing would be going back on my own and renting a jeep and riding around and selecting which beach I want. But if you want to do this tour, I would def take bonine before getting on the ferry. Go directly to the beach via a taxi and spend my day there. The ferry ride back to the ship was at sunset and was stunning and calm. My favorite part of the wholeImageUploadedByTapatalk1424000076.610330.jpg.d345d352601fd67fecfe35b164c2339e.jpg

The first time we went we took the public ferry, got off and there were a few rental companies right there. We rented a jeep for a flat fee and kept it all day. I think we paid with a credit card, but unsure. Seems like it was like renting a car in the states. We did an inspection of the vehicle before signing the contract. Was one of the favorite times we have ever had!
