Thanks for reading. :)

Thoroughly enjoyed your review - - - especially since we were on this cruise with you. Funny though, I don't remember the rough seas you reported on the first sea day. My wife and I normally don't do any excursions, preferring to go off by ourselves in ports. Interestingly, with the exception of Nassau, we had visited these exact same ports just a few weeks earlier when we took an Eastern Caribbean cruise on Carnival's Glory. The reason we were on Conquest is that we were given a free cruise by the casino manager on Glory so we decided to take it Christmas Week on Conquest even though the itinerary was virtually the same. (And the reason we were on that Glory cruise is because we had taken a Western Caribbean cruise on Glory in October and the casino manager gave us a certificate for a free cruise that we used on Glory in November!)

In Nassau we spent the morning walking around the downtown area and did some shopping. We also spent some time at the British Colonial resort which is an absolutely gorgeous property. In fact, my wife and I decided wed like to actually take a land vacation there at some point.

In St. Thomas we took the cattle car to Charlotte Amalie and then we subsequently took the skyride up to Paradise Point.

In Grand Turk, we went straight to Jack's Shack and spent the entire day there, so we probably ran into you there at some point. My wife spent some time in the water and lounging in the sun, but I spent the entire day on a barstool at the corner of the bar accessing their WiFi, eating jerk chicken, and drinking Turk's Head beer.

Not to make you jealous, but at the conclusion of the cruise, rather than a long drive or flight home, we just had to hop in a taxi to our condo on Miami Beach and we were home in about 10-15 minutes. :D

Once again, thanks for posting your review. It was nice reading it and reliving our experience.

Great review

We had a similar issue with my DD (4) last trip on an excursion. Everything said she would be fine with the dolphin experience but the water was too deep and the waves freaked her out so she sat on the dock the entire time. I went to the excursion desk once onboard and told them what happened, and I assume they made some calls to verify and then changed her price from a participant to a guest and gave me a credit for the difference.

I think the only reason we really noticed the rough seas is because we had a forward balcony cabin , you feel everything up there. It's nice though, ship rocks you to sleep at night. It didn't bother us at all, but it was one of the only times I was reminded that we were indeed at sea and not on land.

Most of the excursions we book are things we wouldn't be able to do at home - otherwise we also prefer to get off and just explore the area.

San Juan is one of my favorites. This was our second trip, the first time I spent all day exploring the forts and had no time for anything else. This time we explored the rest of the city, just wish more places were open. It was just the general touristy stores that opened up - they all had the same cheap made in China trinkets.

I really wanted to do the skyride in St. Thomas, we just didn't have enough time.

I LOVE Jack's! We had a table to the side, but were bouncing back and forth to the bar ordering drinks.

I'm sure we ran into each other in the casino too, we spent some time in there too. and how lucky are you, getting two free cruises back to back! Wow.

Totally jealous! Our drive home ended up being closer to 20 hours because we had to swing down to New Orleans to pick up some parts for our business... figured if we were that close we might as well save the $150 in shipping!

I didn't really think about talking to the excursion desk about it, oh well. I still enjoyed the rest of the park, just didn't get to go underwater.

Thanks though, I'll remember that for future cruises. :D
