What did happen to neil turnbull? Very little said on the subject.

P&o not very forthcoming. He was fondly liked by many.

I asked the same question back in mid-November. The answer then was that it was being reported on another forum (FB?) that he was recovering well and would be back to work inside a year, although there was then some debate as to whether he would actually be able to return as the master of a ship having had a stroke. Some thought not, Vampire Parrot knew of s.o. who had done precisely that, so we shall have to wait and see.

He is scheduled to be our Captain on Azura in April.

That is great news, Matty. I wonder if he is being posted to Azura rather than back to Aurora because a) Paul Brown, of one Azura's usual captains, is going to Britannia and b) Azura has been getting some pretty awful reviews lately. Maybe they hope Cptn Turnbull will be able to recreate the lovely atmosphere he had on Aurora on Azura?

We were on Aurora for Christmas/New Year, and the current Captain Julian Burgess told us he was recovering well, and expected to return to work in a couple of months, but no indication of what he would be actually doing. Incidentally, we found Captain Burgess to be excellent, and very friendly.

That pretty much confirms it then, doesn't it? He's back to fighting fitness and will be captaining P&O ships in future. Goody-goody. Look forward to sailing with Captain Burgess at some point.

Yes we had Julian Burgess in 2008 on Oceana. I think it was his first command. Very likeable chap.
