Just off Carnival Pride... impressions

Ok... Not going to be terribly long. ..just some random thoughts.

Pre cruise hotel- Embassy Suites near port. Fire alarm middle of night Friday night. ..no AC after that. It was warm. However, they comped our rooms for those nights so all in all good.

Parking - for 50 dollars we left car at Embassy suites and had transfers. Price good but pick up after cruise sucked. Next time I will do the parking and a taxi back.

Boarding - quick and painless. FTTF for the win. Went to room and bags showed up almost immediately.

Room - 6th floor balcony forward. Could see the bridge. Always kept nice. Towel animals left every night. Had zoo by the end of the cruise. NO complaints.

Food - dining room food was ok. The food is not as good as it was 5 years ago. buffet food also not as good. Not bad just not great. Guys burgers was good. Not the best thing since sliced bread but still very good. It became our lunch of choice. Room service was fast fast. But not enough of a choice.

Entertainment - saw two shows that were good. 88 keys and 80s pop to the max. the blonde man and short haired blonde lady can sing!!!! Did not like heart and soul they should have used the blondes more. Once you have seen Hasbro once, you have seen it. Comedians were goodish.

Casino too smoky but ok. Half no smoking. .. but smoke does not obey the table

Excursions- booked through cruise line. Did this because we were traveling with family and coordinating when we did the same vs different was too much hassle.

Costa maya - sail and snorkel--- ok. No sailing. Water was a little murky. We had to stay in groups which I don't like. So so. The beginner group seemed to enjoy it.

Belize - Altun Ha and river Wallace. This one ticked me off. The excursion itself was ok... but the people on it were extremely rude. Cutting in line all the time, not listening to the guides and complaining about the lack of wildlife found on the river (as if the guide controlled that) then being late to the bus. Absolutely no time at all to shop. None

Roatan- Tabyana beach was excellent. Snorkeling was amazing. Fish everywhere. Awesome. Crystal clear. By noon when we left it was crazy crowded. .. but almost empty when we arrived.

Grand Cayman- barrier reef snorkel. Ok snorkeling. Can't control winds. That part I understand. There were 77 people on our snorkeling tour. That is WAY too many people. Way too many. The guides were very nice.

Debarkation - smooth and effortless.

Random other things. Serenity lounge is nice at night. Virtually empty and the chairs are comfy. Daughter enjoyed the dive in movies. Alchemy bar was cool. We'll do that first night instead of last on next cruise. Trivia was good but missed the sing along trivia we had at night on the legend this summer. The times for the trivia on this cruise weren't great. EA sports bar was used a lot but almost nobody in red frog pub whenever I went by. Dressed up slightly for elegant night but next cruise will pack way less. No longer need a nice outfit for other dinners. Shorts were fine. I have no problem with that. Less to drag with me.

That is it for now. :-)

Roatan water temp was nice. I think upper 70s or 80 but I didn't get an actual number. Grand Cayman was 81. Roatan seemed about the same maybe a tad cooler but that could have been because it was morning.

Boarding announcement guy was funny. A little frustrated as people were not listening really well. ;-)

Hi Marygal - Yes there was some vibration. We noticed it at breakfast one morning in the MDR. We were seated next to a table by the window and the table was shaking, but it was primarily that one table... not the others. It was one of the middle aft tables.

Captain Carnival - we kept commenting that we would be ready to pummel people at that point. :-)
