NCL Sun, 2007, Guatemala question

I have noticed that the Norwegian Sun will be sailing out of New Orleans, and starting in 2007 a port that will stop at is Santo Tomas De Castilla, Guatemala. I can find nothing on CruiseCritic about this port except for a couple of posts, and they both basically say there is a travel alert and it is very dangerous even with a tour group. Does anyone know if this stop will stay or will it change to Roatan? I am not sure calling NCL would do any good.

Thanks in advance.

Whereas the NCL site doesn't show any voyages after October 2006, I've seen Santo Tomas de Castilla, Guatemala replacing Cancun, Mexico as a port of call starting on the Nov 12, 2006 at some web sites.

Ports of call published over a year in advance often change as the cruise date gets closer.

Do a search on the HAL board. That port is on the itinerary of at least one of their ships. NCL had that port as a replacement port for Grand Cayman for our cruise. I remember finding plenty of information on the HAL boards about it. We never wound up going there because Grand Cayman re-opened.
