Gem - on board activities/entertainment

There are no advance reservations taken or required for the Gem and all Jewel class ships (and any smaller class) for shows ... There is simply no need. The number of passengers is quite a bit smaller than the Epic and Breakaway class ships so the shows are not by reservation only. Just arrive about 20 minutes early to get your favorite seat.

It's not the number of passengers but the format of the whole entertainment schedule and venue layout - on older ships there is traditional entertainment in main theatre changing every night but on new megaships there are more options and the same shows are shown on several nights during the cruise.

Even with smaller ships everybody onboard can't fit to the venues at the same time so it's definitely not about the number of passengers.
