RCL or Carnival 6 to 7 night cruise

Last spring we took our first cruise in 15 years. We went on RCL and loved our experience. We are starting to plan our next cruise and I was wondering if Carnival is as nice for a week's cruise. I was also wondering what other cruisers thought of the different lines. We are looking to cruise in the Western Caribbean.

IMO all of the mass market lines are more similar than different. We have been on RCL, NCL & Princess with NCL being our favorite & Princess not really to our tastes. It's not a bad product. We loved the itinerary but found the on board experience too boring.

 

Price is extremely important to us & so are dates. We prefer to sail so that we use the fewest vacation days but get the longest trip.

 

You have to factor in what is most important to you & book the best fit. Do you want casual or dressy? Are specialty restaurants something you focus on? Do want a water park in the middle of your ship? Are you a party person, more sedate or in between?

If you go on Carnival, I would recommend their newer ships as they are really super nice such as Carnival Splendour or Carnival Magic and sail in a spa cabin as the spas on these ships are FANTASTIC!
