rlkubi Posted January 15, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2015 All, is there a major convention or something early - mid February 2016? A lot of the hotels are already sold out for that time frame. Thanks!
We<3WDW Posted January 15, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 15, 2015 SC Wildlife Expo is Feb. 13-15 and Valentines Day is that weekend as well.
firsttimecruiser9876 Posted January 15, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 15, 2015 The Southeastern Wildlife Expo is held every year, usually around Valentine's Day weekend. The event is hugely popular. Not to mention, it has become really difficult to get a hotel in Charleston. Try a hotel in the West Ashley area, which is just over a bridge. Or, try Mt. Pleasant (Patriots Point area), which is just over another bridge. There is a Marriot, Hampton Inn, etc. They will be cheaper, too! Good luck! rlkubi Posted January 15, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted January 15, 2015 This might make our cruise decision. Maybe going back to Miami
Coolhand Posted January 15, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 15, 2015 They are all sold out that weekend. Also the 5th too. You might want to stay in Summerville SC only a 30 minute ride from downtown Charleston. The Southeastern Wildlife Festival attracts visitors from all over the world. A lot of the hotels are already sold out for that time frame. Thanks! Mid Feb is the end of our shoulder season and kicks off the start of our high season which peaks in April. Many of the hotel rooms are booked as far as a year out for SEWE weekend which is always Valentines weekend as previously pointed out. Have you tried any of the airport area hotels? There a several fairly new ones on Montague and near the Convention Center and Tanger outlet in North Charleston.

reerun25 Posted April 4, 2015 #9 Share Posted April 4, 2015 Living less than 2 hours from the port of Charleston, are there any parking options other than the port and other than staying a night in a hotel? Just trying to find a better deal than paying the $17 a day at the port...

Just trying to find a better deal than paying the $17 a day at the port... The city garage next to the port at Cumberland and Concord has a maximum daily charge of $16. There is no overnight security. Considering that the port parking is in a locked, secure warehouse during your cruise plus the short length of the cruise, if it were me I'd just go ahead and park at the port. Enjoy your cruise.
